What is Giving Back?

It is the art of being a career scientist just to find a cure for other people

Somewhere out there a scientist is working harder than ever before in their career just to come up with the cure. Not because they want the recognition or career advancement but because they want to stop the suffering.

Hurry & thank you. We need your cure.

It is the art of measuring your success by how much it positively impacts other people instead of how many zeros you see on your pay check

Somewhere out there a successful social entrepreneur is working late and on the weekends not because they want to take the “world’s richest man” title. No. Instead they are tirelessly trying to address a social issue just so they can help people in need.

Hurry & thank you. We need your help.

It is the art of intentionally capturing the idea that you think will be a change maker and putting it into action

Somewhere in a small coffee shop an idea has been written on a napkin that will change lives. The art isn’t the idea itself, it’s making the idea happen.

Hurry. Make it happen. We need you.

It is performing your art to intentionally create for a cause or purpose

Somewhere out there a painting is being created that will be graciously given to a charity for their big annual fundraiser.

Hurry. Create. We need you.

Art doesn’t just appear.

Giving Back and the Art(s) behind it require us to intentionally give our talents and skills for the benefit of others in need. Start giving back. We need you.

What’s your art?

Save a kids life…End Malaria Day

Today is End Malaria Day.

“That buzzing in my ear didn’t mean I was about to die…Here’s what would happen: someone wouldn’t die. A child wouldn’t die from malaria, a disease that causes more childhood death than HIV/AIDS.”

Today’s post on Seth Godin’s Blog blog is GREAT. He explains a simple way to help save the life of someone who might die because they don’t have a way to protect themselves from a deadly mosquito bite.

If you would put bug spray on your kid, seriously think about the parent that cannot afford it…now take 5 seconds to think about putting your kid(s) to sleep knowing they might get a deadly mosquito bite before breakfast. Help.
